Goodyear Tread Models
Posted by Ron from West Palm Beach, FL, US on April 16, 2009

I am working on a municipal bid for a 29,000# GVWR chassis with 24′ reefer body. The bid spec requires “Goodyear 11R22.5G 14ply G150 RSA” front and rear tires. Does Goodyear make a G150 now? I couldn’t find it in the Engineering Book on the website. The same bid spec 18 months ago required “G149″ tread, which is standard on our chassis. I want to find out if the model exists before I question the municipality on their spec.

We made the G149 for several years, introduced the G150 HSA tire about a year and a half ago for high scrub applications and we are now replacing it with the G661 HSA. All these tires in the 11R22.5 size. So, yes, there is probably still tires in inventory out there in the G149 and G150 designs but, if you have a need for a tire that resists high scrub type wear, the G661 HSA will be available within the next few days.
