Comparison charts/ Tire data
Posted by Jason from Windber, PA, US on February 5, 2009

Are there any comparison charts for waste haul tires, showing which brand performs best?

How do you define "performs best"? Treadwear, dry traction, wet traction, retreadability, puncture resistance, cost per mile? There are a lot ways to look at tire performance. Cost per mile is probably the best indicator of how your tires are performing. You may want to take a look at our new G289 WHA waste haul tire. It is availabale in the 315/80R22.5 size and will soon be available with DuraSeal built in sealent. Check it out on our website www.goodyear.com/truck

Tire G124 UNISTEEL GOODYEAR 12R22.5
Posted by Augusta (Gus from Millington, TN, US on February 5, 2009

We have this tire on the rear. They have 1/2 inch of tread on them there are four places on the out side lugs where the rubber is cut off the out side lugs where they have run over a curb. The fire thinks they are unsafe. I do not see where this could be a problem. I would like to get your thoughts.

It is difficult to give you an answer without looking at the tire. I suggest getting with a tire professional (an experienced person at a local dealer) to help you with the diagnosis. If the body ply or belts of the tire are not exposed, the tire should be OK.
