Drive tire rotation pattern
Posted by Sherman from Columbus, OH, US on December 4, 2008
We run a fleet of Peterbilt 335’s with 11R/22.5 drive tires. What is the recommended interval for rotating the drive tires and what would be the pattern?
From a mileage standpoint, this would depend on how the trucks are used. If you know the average mileage of the drive tires, you could divide the total mileage by 4 and rotate at the 1/4 marks. As far as how to rotate, I would reverse the direction of roation (swithch from side to side) and it it is a tandem axle tractor, I would switch from forward to rearward axle, also, at each rotation.
