Tire pressure,
Posted by kevin from little rock, AR, US on December 1, 2008

Is it recommended that if a tire says on sidewall that inflation is 110 psi maximum, you should run the tires at this level, in a our fleet we run tires at 100 psi

Ideally, tires are inflated to a pressure appropriate for the load they are carrying. All tire companies publish a load / inflation table for each tire size they make. But, obviously, the loads trucks carry may vary so, many fleets determine what the maximum loads that can be carried (by axle) and calculate the max load per tire. At that point, to make things simple, they may set tires at the pressure needed by the tires that carry the highest load. I don't know if that is what you fleet did but, it is very common.
