8R19.5 Availability
Posted by Jerom from Columbus, GA, US on November 10, 2008

It seems this size is becoming harder and harder to find - and I’m aware that a lot of people, especially with motorhomes, are converting to a 225/70R19.5. Are the 8R19.5s still manufactured on a regular basis and shops are simply choosing not to stock them since they aren’t asked for as often? Also, the nearest equivalent for converting to metric would be a 225/70R19.5 correct? Although it is an inch shorter and half an inch wider - this is really considered the closest thing to it?

The answers are yes, probably yes, yes and yes. The 8R19.5 size is still made. It is becoming less popular as a replacement tire since most newer vehicles that may have used it before are now 225/70R19.5 or some other size. This size is the closest in dimensions to the 8R19.5.
