Front Float Tires
Posted by marv from columbus, OH, US on November 4, 2008

Have fleet use 385/75/22.5 steer, pick up yard scrap, get misc. tread flats and side wall damage, what tire do you recomend? Need HD load of up to 20,000# front axle. Marv

We have a 315/80R22.5 LR-L G287 HSS with DuraSeal that may be just what you need. The load capasity is 10,200 lbs per tire so, your 20,000 lb total front axle load is covered. Biggest issue is that you will need narrower wheels...the 315/80R22.5 requires either a 9.00 or 9.75 rim width. DuraSeal is a built in sealent that will seal punctures up to 1/4 inch in diameter in the reparable tread area of the tire. It will not seal sidewall punctures. You can get lots of information on DuraSeal tires on our website www.goodyear.com
