295/75R22.5 vs 11R24.4, which gets better fuel mileage
Posted by ron from anchorage, AK, US on February 14, 2008

I’m ordering a new truck and when specking tire size which size (should) get better fuel mileage? Tire size makes no differrence to my fleet, but will have to recalculate the rest of the drive train specs.

All other things being equal, the 295/75R22.5 size should give you better mileage. This is mainly do to the fact that it will make the vehicle closer to the road which is better for aerodyamics and the better for fuel economy. Also, we offer the Goodyear Fuel Max tire line in this size (G395 LHS for steer, G305 LHD for drive and G316 LHTfor trailer) and this will result in even better fuel economy for you.
