Replacing Split Wheels
Posted by Larry on February 6, 2007

I have an ‘84 GMC 7000 flat bed dump that has spit rims and 9.00-20 tires on it. I need some help in regards to finding and replacing these with some one piece rims and some radial tires. What size tire should I get?

The 9.00-20 tires you have now are have a diameter around 40 inches and an overall width a little over 10 inches. The closest radial tire in size to this is the 10R22.5. What you haven't told me is the loads you will be carrying so, be sure to make sure that the you chose a tire with a load range that will meet your load requirements.
