Tire Standardization

Truck manufacturers recommend a certain size tire for their truck’s, i.e. Ford F800, Volvo WG64, Ihc 4700. Does it make good sense to standardize tires just to keep cost down?
Vehicle manufacturer's establish a base price for a truck based on a base tire (size and type). Any variation off the base tire is typically an upcharge. No matter what tires you choose on new truck, it might be a good idea to "standardize" your fleet to make life simple and keep costs down.
