Comparable Tire Size
Posted by Tim on July 20, 2006

We operate several off road support trucks. They have 11.00-20 bias non-directional tires. What is the closest high flotation tire that can we can put on the front axle (like a 425/65R22.5). Rolling radius is important, they are all wheel drive with an on road top speed of 55 MPH.

Without knowing what brand and type of tires you are currently running, I can only use a Tire and Rim Association book to determine what the new diameter of your current tires are...about 45 inches. With that in mind the comparable size in a wide base tire would be the 425/65R22.5 that you mention with the 445/65R22.5 size just a little taller (.25 - .50 more rolling radius).
