New Truck Vibration
Posted by Tim on March 12, 2006

WE BOUGHT A 2006 VOLVO WITH AUTOSHIFT IT HAS HAD A TERRIBLE VIBRATION AT SPEEDS FROM 30 TO 60 MPH. REALLY BAD. IT GETS WORSE WHEN YOU HOOK A TRAILER TO IT. WE’VE HAD THE FRONT TIRES BALANCED BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. THE DEALER SAYS NOTHING WRONG. IT’S A NIGHTMARE

I recommend that you take the vehicle to an authorized Goodyear commercial tire dealer to get balance & runouts checked on both steer & drive positions. Steer tire balance may be OK, but high runout of the tire/wheel assembly may cause vibration. If assembly runouts greater than .060" are identified, a match-mounting procedure needs to be used. Our service manual describes the procedure for diagnosing vibration complaints & match-mounting tires to wheels. If this does not resolve your problem, contact me again via this website with details on how to get in touch with you. I will not publish your name or address but will contact you outside this forum.
