Question 63
Posted by Jim on March 29, 2005

Ford dealers are in trouble with orders for class 6 & 7 trucks and we are told Goodyear is the reason. Can you explain this for me?

There is a global shortage of radial truck tires. All tire manufactuers have similar issues. We are doing everything we can to supply all the OE vehicle manufactuers with sufficient product.

We run 50% off road and use the off road compound in our recaps and steer tires. Our mileage is very low. Any suggestions to increase mileage?? Also, what is the perfect tire program in a situation like this??

The off road compound has higher tear resistant and better traction vs the standard over the road compound. Maintaining the proper air pressure is the best that you can hope for to maximize mileage.
