can you change from long stroke to standard stroke on new truck
Posted by Pierre from Sudbury, ON, CA on May 14, 2009

We purchased a 2007 Western Star tri axle dump truck

it came equiped with long stroke brake pot 30 36

is it acceptable that the dealer converted to standard pots 30 30

because those long stroke we had were not available when one of the pot broke?

The 3036 chamber has stronger holding ability on the parking brake side and the long stroke on the service side. The truck manufacture put the 3036 units on ,because of braking ability in park and service.

automatic slack adjusters
Posted by Pierre from Sudbury, ON, CA on May 8, 2009

can you really adjust the brakes, on automatic slack adjusters

from inside the cab, by fanning the brake pedal?

Pierre

The Haldex ABA does not need to be adjusted this way,it keeps the brakes in adjustment all the time. Some other automatic adjusters do need this to stay in proper adjustment.
