Q. do you make anything that will alleviate idling in a cargo van? if not, do you know anyone who does? thanks fro any help you may be able to give me.
A. Bob, Espar does manufacture larger forced air heating systems that can do the job of alleviating idling in a cargo van. Check out this link ( http://www.espar.com/htm/applies/cargo.htm ) and it will give you an idea of what you should be looking for, along with application guidelines and the appropriate heater size.

Units for my fleet
July 20, 2006 @ 11:30 am
Q. Mr. Dennehy,
I’m intersested in your units for my small fleet of trucks. I’m a small carrier and the current fuel prices are making it very hard to make a profit. I would like to know if you would be interested in advertising on the side of my trailers in exchange for a couple of units. Since you are a marketing expert, I’m sure you recognize the value of having your name on a rolling billboard all over the country, as well as the added benefit of my drivers acting as salesmen when they answer the inevitable questions they will get from other drivers on the road. the trucks I need APUs on run from the east coast to Sparks,NV, then pick up produce in California to bring back. Please E-mail me if you think this may be something that interests you. Thank you for your time,
Steve Skidmore
A. I'll email you pernsonally!

idle reduction
July 13, 2006 @ 7:21 pm
Q. Hey, it’s the 21st century. Surely there is some more efficient apu system that doesn’t include a duplicate a/c, heater, generator (alternater), and INTERNAL CUMBUSTION DIESEL ENGINE!!!! How about manufacturing class 8 trucks with an all electric heater and air conditioner, a little stouter alternater, and additional battery capacity…maybe even solar panels. I’m no engineer so I may be all wet on this. What do you think?
A. I think you're dead on! I do know of a few upstart companies who have been fooling around with most of the points you mention. But for the most part I suppose it does lie in the hands of the Truck Manufacturers when you talk about that kind of component / system integration. Redundant components could take a lot of cost and space out of the equation.

International Governing Agency
July 12, 2006 @ 4:01 pm
Q. I’m not sure who to pose this question but was thinking that perhaps with your knowledge of government agencies you might know the answer. I am trying to find out if there is an international highway governing agency or ministry of which perhaps that DOT or the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is a member. So is there an agency that has a charter similar to the DOT here in the USA but who is governing agency for the world?
Please advise if you know or if know somebody the might know. Thank you!!
Elaine
A. I understand your question, in my 12 years dealing with the Trucking Industry and government agencies I have never come across or heard of an International governing board that looks after highways.
